In your Facebook ads manager, select “Traffic” as objective while creating the campaign.

When you select “Traffic” as an objective, Facebook finds all those people in your target audience who are more likely to click on your link.

How does Facebook optimize the ads for traffic or link clicks?

Facebook captures the behaviour of the users. Facebook knows the people who frequently click on the links on FB.

Hence when you ask Facebook to optimise your ads for link clicks, you get more results in the same amount.

But, just because you selected the objective as “traffic”, you won’t always get clicks on your ads. Selecting an objective is not enough. If you have selected the wrong audience and/or your ad is not appealing enough, people will not click on it as the ad is not relevant to them. This results in a higher cost per click.

Tip: Always optimize the content for your target audience to maximize the results.
